Innovation Workshop – Building the Next Steps:

Key Components of a Smart Hospital

Description:
This workshop is designed to guide Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and telco providers in identifying the essential solutions required by hospitals to successfully transition to smart healthcare environments. Specifically, the session will focus on creating a product catalogue for the Tech-Up Programme, guided by the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Digital Interventions, Services, and Applications in Health as a guiding framework.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Understanding Hospital Needs: This session will identify the specific technological solutions hospitals need for a smart transformation. The emphasis will be on addressing gaps in the current healthcare infrastructure and defining what solutions—such as digital health applications, telemedicine tools, and AI-driven systems—are most critical
    for future success.
  • Developing a Product Catalogue: A key objective of the workshop will be to define the types of technology products that hospitals require to improve healthcare delivery. The catalogue will include both foundational infrastructure and advanced technologies, such as electronic health records (EHRs), telehealth services, AI-driven diagnostic tools, and cloud-based management systems, all tailored to comply with WHO standards.
  • Aligning with Global Standards: The session will ensure that the proposed product catalogue aligns with the WHO Classification of Digital Interventions, which provides
guidelines for categorizing digital health technologies, ensuring that solutions adopted by Malaysian hospitals meet international health standards and best practices.
